Billy Campbell is a single father of three teenagers and works as a detective in Brisbane. He juggles his personal and work life as he tries to live peacefully with his family on Sunshine Island.
While investigating a series of unsettling murders that occurred in Sydney, Canberra, and Brisbane, Billy travels overseas after learning of his long-lost relations residing there.
After Billy deciphers the clues found at the crime scenes, he returns home to catch the killer.
It’s the First Capital That Counts is Barefoot Billy’s debut novel. Though his book is a crime-thriller, Billy adds humour, poetry, and lyrics to his writing to add depth to his characters.
"I have wanted to write a book for a long time. Almost 13 years ago I fought and won sole custody of my three kids, then aged 4, 2, and 1, so all my creativity went on the back burner because my kids came first. But I wouldn’t change my life for quids (for those of you who don’t know, that means money).
My kids are all teenagers now and can do more for themselves, so I can spend more time being creative. I am already into books two and three, and have a few more songs in the pot.
Please let me know if you like the book. I also have copies of my CD, if you would like one.
Be kind to one another and peace will prevail.
Peace and love to you all."
