My encounter with breast cancer has led me into a road of self- discovery while trying to understand and to accept what was happening.
This book is about the walk I took on that road from the moment I returned to Australia, after my diagnosis. It gives an insight to the thoughts, the emotions and the fears I underwent throughout the changes and choices I had to face.
It is not intended to be a self-help book. The readers won’t find answers here. Instead, they will be confronted with questions and they are invited to reflect on many common life situations.
In writing these pages, I wanted to show that cancer does not define a person and its effects can be positive. I hope the account of my experiences might reshape and challenge your perceptions of living with and after cancer.
